Often remembered as the place of "The Old Pueblo," the city of Tucson has long been the site of inhabitation for Native American villages dating back thousands of years prior to the first foundation of a territorial establishment around 1700.

For part of the year, Tucson residents live next to a river. The Santa Cruz River is a dry river bed most of the time, but during the rainy season the river starts to flow again. Residents enjoy strolling alongside this tranquil watercourse throughout most of the year.
