With more than 300 days of sunshine and mild temperatures through the winter months, outdoor recreation is enjoyable in Tucson throughout every season of the year. Popular activities include the exploration of ancient caves, rock climbing, horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking and bird watching.

Tucson is full of rocket scientists, college professors and horse specialists. Of the city’s top employers, Raytheon Missile Systems tops the list with over 11,000 employees. In a close second, the University of Arizona clocks in with about 10,300 employees. At the university alone, over 20 faculty members are associated with the school’s equine center.
