Tucson has been fashioned by a colorful history of Native American presence, Spanish colonization and European settlement movements of the past. Folks can encounter this history at local museums like the Tucson Museum of Art, University of Arizona Art Museum and the Arizona Historical Society.

Tucson is full of rocket scientists, college professors and horse specialists. Of the city’s top employers, Raytheon Missile Systems tops the list with over 11,000 employees. In a close second, the University of Arizona clocks in with about 10,300 employees. At the university alone, over 20 faculty members are associated with the school’s equine center.
